Most people think that all-terrain vehicles, known commonly as ATVs, are only meant for off-road use. However, with a few modifications, your ATV can be made street legal. Not all ATVs are ready for paved-road usage, but with a few tweaks, you can ride your ATV around your neighborhood and use it to run local errands.

First, you will need to add some safety features, such as a horn, brake lights, and mirrors. All of these features show up on other motorized vehicles for a reason, and while they often don’t come with an ATV when you first buy one, you’ll need to add them. 

License and Registration

Per Wyoming law, your ATV should already be registered, but now you’ll need special licensing to operate your ATV on the road. This may come in the form of an MPV permit or an ORV permit. You’re also going to need a license plate for the ATV and a valid driver’s license before hitting the road.
